Mr. Self began his reinsurance career with Burlington-based R/I, Inc. in 1987. He remained with that operation through a series of mergers and acquisitions that eventually made it part of Willis reinsurance brokers, where Mr. Self was senior vice president before joining John B. Collins Associates as senior vice president in 2001. After Guy Carpenter’s acquisition of Collins, Scott co-founded Atlantic Re.
Mr. Self holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
